Iran theater halls will not be operational during upcoming sad holidays in the country, including the one marking passing anniversary of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution.
Iran Supervising and Evaluating Council of the Dramatic Arts Center released a statement, asking for a temporary halt to the operation of theater centers in the country on June 3-5.
Passing anniversaries of Imam Khomeini as well as Hazrat Khadijeh (SA), wife of the Prophet Muhammad are marked on June 4 and 5 respectively. Meanwhile, June 5 is a day to honor “15th of Khordad Uprising” in which Iranian people went against the despotic former ruler of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
Theater halls in Iran will be fully operational after the sad holidays, welcoming dramatic arts enthusiasts from Iran and aboard.
